Is it possible to have everyone in world being good? Why
can't we avoid having badness in the world?
For answering this question, we need to know how people turn to be bad or good. Because, by birth every person is a neutral character. One's character is the product of his/her unique identity. A person’s
identity comprises of the qualities that he/she is known for. Identity is how
the surrounding people characterize him/her. An individual develops his/her identity during his youth, and it is highly affected by the characters attributed to that person very often by the surrounding people. Hence, source of bad people is the creation of bad identities, by repeatedly pointing to bad qualities in a person.
Take a very simple example. In a house there are few
children. All of them will not show same interests, same traits and values.
If they do so, there won’t be separate identities but natural tendency in humans is to get unique identities. It is
very natural for the family members to compare the children. If a boy is consistently termed as 'good', he will focus investing his time in good work, and hence, gradually become a good person. But, others who are comparatively bad, get constant feedback as to being bad. As a result of repetitive comparison,
few of them acquire an identity of being good, few as bad, few as intelligent, few
as hard working etc.
Once a person gets an identity by repeatedly highlighting a quality, he will continue to grow
that quality. This is irrespective of if the resulting identity is good or bad. A person termed as bad again and again,
gradually possesses identity as bad and finally turn into a “real” bad person.
It is the same for good people. If repeatedly a person's good
qualities are highlighted, he/she will tend to stick to good habits. This is more true during the age when the identities are getting formed.
How can all folks on earth be 'termed as good', so that with
the positive identity, and in effect, they all get full motivation to become good?
This is possible if there are few more earths, and intelligent beings there and
they compare and tell that 'people on earth are good'. If this kind of message
is passed again and again to mankind on earth, all people on earth can become
good. But, this is almost impossible.
Another possible way is stop comparing people. We just appreciate good qualities of each person, which is almost not possible. Hence, it is a good idea, to accept the fact the badness is part of the society. We can only device mechanisms to have a constant check on that and apply remedies.
